Autumn Classic Field

The Caulfield Autumn Classic field attracts a pretty diverse range of gallopers. Because it runs fairly early in the Autumn Racing Carnival, the Autumn Classic field can be targeted by horses who are at various stages in their preparation. Some of the three year olds who enter the Autumn Classic field might have had multiple starts already as part of their campaign, while others might be first up and a bit fresh. It’s important to take these factors into account when betting on the Autumn Classic field.

2016 Autumn Classic Field

The 2016 Autumn Classic field will be released on the Wednesday prior to the race and should come out some time in the morning. Expect to see some really top quality three year olds in the 2015 Autumn Classic field, particularly following a cracker spring carnival the year prior. Most of young horses in the 2015 Autumn Classic field will have had extensive preparation and plenty of group races under their belt.

2016 Autumn Classic Nominations

The 2016 Caulfield Autumn Classic nominations will no doubt feature a host of the talented three year olds that we watched race at Flemington in September, October and November. When you’re having a look at the 2015 Autumn Classic nominations, keep a keen eye out for those horses which had outstanding campaigns when they were a touch younger, and try and get an understanding of how they’ve developed since then.
